The company was founded by Louis Renault and his brothers Marcel and Fernand, and a friend Thoman Evert in 1899. The first Renault car was the Renault Voiturette 1CV and this was sold to a friend of the Renault family after he was so impressed with the way it could climb the streets.
Today Renault have built on their history and maintained their unique designs to create excellent cars which have received many safety awards over the years of their existence. Their current range of cars include the Campus and Clio which are in the small compact range of cars, the Megane and Laguna which are family cars, the Modus, Scenic and Escape which are MPV, they are sports versions of the Clio and Megan as well as a Megane Coupé cabriolet.
