Drive the BMW 5-Series, the Ultimate Driving Experience!
There have been 5 generations of the 5 Series to date; to differentiate between them, they are referred to by their unique chassis numbers (EXX). The first generation of the 5 Series began in 1972 (E12 520) and was available until 1981. The next was the E28, which was produced from 1982 until 1988. In 1989 the handsome E34 entered production and won many awards for safety and reliability; production of the model ended in 1996. All 3 models had a boxy body shell and protruding round headlights. The next 2 generations adopted sleeker styling, with body-molded headlights, front grille, and bumpers. The E39 replaced the E34 in 1996, and continued production until 2003. The current 5 series model, the E60/E61 was designed by Chris Bangle, and features slight styling changes to its exterior, as well as more powerful engine options.
The BMW 5 series is an elegant, understated luxury car; a comfortable ride, it is competitively fuel efficient, and extremely responsive to your driving.
